The Beretta M9 and M4 Rifle “BlueFire” Wireless Weapon Simulators use commercial wireless “Bluetooth” technology to communicate with the training system in the same manner as our System Controlled Weapons. Recoil is achieved with a rechargeable magazine of compressed gas. Our Controlled Weapon Simulators (Remington 870 shotguns) are high fidelity and built to tolerances within 10% of live firearm weight as well as center of gravity. Systems-Controlled Weapons are tethered to the training system to provide the highest degree of firearm control and feedback.
Both the “BlueFire” Wireless Weapons Simulators and the tethered System-Controlled Weapons transmit and display real-time firearm handling data to the instructor via firearm sensor data. This enables the instructor to create a number of scenarios for the student. For example, the instructor is able to jam the firearm with a keystroke, designate elapsed scenario time, and/or designate the number of shots fired. In addition, compressed air or CO2 gas may provide recoil that is sufficient to disturb the trainee sight picture. This action necessitates the trainee to reacquire the target after each shot. Following the “exercise” the Instructor and student are able to review the scenario and examine factors such as muzzle discipline and shot placement, among other factors.
